Why I'm Choosing to #PutFiltersFirst

Did you know that using one Brita Filtering Bottle could help replace 1,800 single-use plastic bottles a year? Or that 70% of plastic water bottles don’t end up being recycled? Little things like carrying your own reusable water bottle can make a huge impact on our world and environment, and are simpler than many of us may realize.

Me and my group of friends love the Brita Filtering Bottle because it allows us to drink cleaner, great-tasting water whenever we’re on the go, with less worry of bad-tasting, unfiltered water and making sure we stayed hydrated along the way. I carry this habit over into my daily life now, any time I leave the house for a gym sesh, errands, or a pool day I make sure to have my own reusable water bottle in hand, it’s a habit that wasn’t hard to form and keep up with, and one that I’m happy to see those around me implementing themselves. With over 2,000 plastic water bottle used every second in the US alone the more people who switch over to reusable, refillable, water bottles such as the Brita Filtering Bottle the less unnecessary waste our planet has to endure.

Sure, I like rosé on a hot day as much as the next person, but you will rarely catch me poolside without my water bottle in tow. Hydration is something we often overlook but along with the global impacts of avoiding single-use water bottles, always having a water bottle in hand reminds me to keep my daily water intake up.

Brita encourages us, and I encourage all of you, to #putfiltersfirst.
